Retail Manager
In December 2026, the Memphis Art Museum opens a new home on the downtown riverfront: a full city block on the bluff, designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architects, with street-level galleries, a community courtyard, and a rooftop sculpture garden. The Museum Security Manager supports the Director of Building Engineering and Security in the day-to-day management of the museum’s security operations. This position ensures the safety and protection of museum visitors, staff, collections, and facilities. This role supervises security personnel, coordinates with the Operations Center, and implements policies and procedures that support a safe, welcoming and professional museum environment. The manager oversees daily security operations, monitoring surveillance systems and access control and serves as the lead responder to incidents and emergencies and manages reporting and response. The Security Manager serves as a key operational leader, balancing public-facing guest service with risk management, emergency preparedness, human safety, and asset protection.

Would you like to learn more about art and share your knowledge with others? Founded in 1965, the Brooks Docent Program was established by the Brooks Museum League. Serving thousands of visitors each year, Brooks docents engage their audiences with the artwork on view and foster the development of visual and creative thinking skills, often providing the first contact many children and adults have with the visual arts. We strive to provide a positive, meaningful, and relevant experience with art.
