Arrow Arts Summer Camps at the Brooks – Where Creativity Comes to Life!

This summer, let your child’s imagination soar at the Brooks Museum’s Arrow Arts Summer Camps! From fashion design to painting, zine-making to mixed media, our week-long camps offer young artists the perfect space to explore, create, and have fun while learning from expert instructors in a museum setting.

Camp Highlights:

Hands-on activities in fashion design, painting, zines, mixed media, printmaking, macramé, and textiles
Guided gallery explorations for artistic inspiration
Creative problem-solving & collaboration in a supportive environment
Take-home original masterpieces to cherish

With camps for ages 5-18, there’s something for every budding artist! Whether your child dreams of designing their own clothes, painting like a pro, or crafting a unique zine, they’ll build skills, gain confidence, and make new friends at the Brooks.

Camp Schedule & Pricing:
Class Hours: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM (Drop-off at 8:30 AM, Pickup at 4:00 PM)
Cost: $290 for members / $365 for non-members
Location: Brooks Museum

Sessions Include:
Fashion Camp (Ages 5-10) – Learn to sketch, sew, and explore fashion history!
Painting Camp (Ages 11-14 & 15-18) – Experiment with techniques, color, and creative expression.
Zine Camp (Ages 11-14) – Make your own mini-magazine with illustrations and writing!
Mixed Media Camp (Ages 5-10) – Explore printmaking, collage, and unconventional materials!
Textile Art Camp (Ages 15-18) – Master the art of macramé and fiber arts!

Art Therapy Access Program

Art therapy is defined by the American Art Therapy Association as a mental health profession in which clients, facilitated by a masters-level art therapist, use art media, the creative process, and the resulting artwork to explore their feelings, reconcile emotional conflicts, foster self-awareness, manage behavior and addictions, develop social skills, improve reality orientation, reduce anxiety, and increase self-esteem.

Homeschool

The Brooks offers free Homeschool Days for homeschool students of all ages and their families. Homeschool Days occur six times a year - three in the fall and three in the spring. Each of these days explores the museum’s permanent collection and special exhibitions through a specific theme.

Inside Art

Inside Art is Tennessee’s only family gallery dedicated to visual literacy – the ability to make meaning from the images you see. Teachers, parents, and caregivers alike will love each thoughtful element and its profound learning objectives. Children of all ages will relish in the sounds, sights, and textures as they pose, climb, create, relax, and explore.

Virtual Visits

Classes are 40 minutes in length and are available Monday through Friday. All virtual visits must be booked a minimum of two weeks in advance and require at least 10 participants. This is a free program open to all ages and types of groups.

Mid-South Scholastic Art Awards

The Mid-South Scholastic Art Awards is an annual juried student art exhibition sponsored by The Brooks Museum League which provides both financial support and countless volunteer hours, Pinnacle Financial Partners, RiverArtsFest, and Logan Scheidt with additional support from Derek Fordjour and the family of Marcia Bicks.
