Job Title: Communications Manager

Position Overview:
The Memphis Brooks Museum of Art seeks a data-savvy, detail-oriented and strategic-thinking Communications Manager to lead our email marketing efforts. This role is essential in helping us connect with diverse audience segments, ensuring each interaction is meaningful and drives engagement with the museum’s programs and events. The Communications Manager will manage our online presence and the customer database, strategically segment audiences, and deliver targeted messaging that promotes our offerings to specific groups.
Key Responsibilities:
- Email Marketing Management:
Design and execute all email campaigns, including program announcements, special events, and membership promotions. Ensure all emails align with our brand voice and deliver engaging, accurate content. - Digital Guest Experience:
Ensure the digital guest experience is streamlined by publishing events and connecting the calendar, ticketing system, and email platform. - Customer Database Management:
Maintain and update the museum’s customer database to ensure accuracy, allowing for effective segmentation and targeted communications. - Audience Segmentation:
Develop segmented audience lists to ensure messaging relevance. Tailor email content to specific customer groups, maximizing engagement and conversion rates for various programming and membership offers. - Campaign Analysis and Optimization:
Track and analyze campaign performance, generating insights and recommendations to improve open rates, click-through rates, and overall effectiveness of communications. - Follow-Up and Special Promotions:
Collaborate with programming teams to ensure timely follow-up emails and exclusive promotions for recent attendees, encouraging ongoing participation and loyalty. - Cross-Department Collaboration:
Work with programming, development, and visitor services teams to align messaging with organizational goals and provide cohesive communication across all channels.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Proven experience in email marketing, database management, and digital communications.
- Strong understanding of audience segmentation and email marketing best practices.
- Proficiency in email marketing software (e.g., Mailchimp, HubSpot) and CRM databases.
- Excellent writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Analytical mindset with experience interpreting and leveraging campaign data.
- Passion for the arts and commitment to engaging community audiences.
