Join us for our eleventh art history lecture taught by Professor Rebecca Howard.
Lesson description: In this lecture, we will see how the Catholic Church responded to the Protestant Reformation, leading to the artistic period known as the Baroque. We will study key works of painting, sculpture, and architecture by figures like Caravaggio, Bernini, Artemisia Gentileschi, Rembrandt, and Vermeer.
Lectures will be taught in the education studio at the Brooks Museum of Art. Limited seating available with tickets for $20 or free for our Brooks Docents. More information on becoming a docent is available here.
