Join us for our fifth art history lecture taught by Professor Rebecca Howard.

Lesson description: The mislabeled “Dark Ages” were actually full of artistic innovation. This lecture will consider the lives and art making practices of nomadic peoples like the Vikings and Anglo-Saxons, as well as long-standing medieval empires like those of Otto III and Charlemagne. This era sees the mastery of illuminated manuscripts and the development of the Christian basilica.

Lectures will be taught in the education studio at the Brooks Museum of Art. Limited seating available with tickets for $20 or free for our Brooks Docents. More information available about becoming a docent here.
