Art History 101: Modernism in Europe and America: Early to Mid-20th-Century Art

This talk will explore the avant-garde culture advocated by modernist artists, who would re-evaluate the very idea of WHAT art is (and what it can be). Emphasis will be placed on influential modernist movements from the early 20^th century like Cubism, Constructivism, Dada, and Surrealism; the continuity of representational imagery will also be seen in Regionalists artists of the United States.
