Join us for our fourth art history lecture taught by Professor Rebecca Howard.
Lesson description: This lecture will examine the art and architecture of the early Christian world. How did art respond to the rise of Christianity? We will discuss shifts away from the polytheistic religions of ancient Greece and Rome, the fall of the Roman Empire, and the rise of Byzantium. Learn about the Byzantine mastery of eastern-inspired architecture and mosaics.
Lectures will be taught in the education studio at the Brooks Museum of Art. Limited seating available with tickets for $20 or free for our Brooks Docents. More information on becoming a docent available here.
