Come make a puppet in preparation for Memphis' welcome to Little Amal!
Little Amal is a 12-foot puppet of a Syrian girl who will be visiting Memphis in early October. Clayborn Temple is leading this project, where Amal and over 1000 puppets created by youth across the city will walk from the I Am A Man Plaza to Tom Lee Park. Emily Marks will lead this workshop to talk about Amal’s story and teach you how to build puppet self-portraits, as well as contribute to a quilt that we will gift Amal upon her arrival. You and your puppet are invited to come walk with us on October 4th at 4p as well.
