Brooks Museum’s Pissarro painting spends time in Paris

It’s the first week of spring and one of our paintings featuring this season is spending time in Paris.

Stanton Thomas, Curator of European and Decorative Art, accompanied Camille Pissarro’s Printemps à Éragny (Springtime in Éragny) to France earlier this month. This is Stanton in front of the Gare du Nord (Northern Train Station) during his time in Paris.

The painting is currently on view at Musée du Luxembourg, Paris as part of the Pissarro à Eragny, l’anarchie et la nature (Pissarro in Eragny: Nature Regained) exhibition. Click here to read more about the exhibition.

Our curatorial staff carefully packed the painting for shipment via plane.

It will be on view in Paris until July and will return to Memphis later this summer.
