Homeschool Day – April 16, 2020

Today is the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art’s Homeschool Day!  Even though the museum is closed because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we’re glad to be able to share this virtual experience with all the families in our community.

Inspired by the wide variety of landscapes in the Brooks Museum’s collection, you can explore how artists over the centuries have depicted landscapes through their artwork.

You can also review vocabulary related to landscapes in art, such as foreground, focal point, and horizon line.  And take a closer look at this special landscape by American artist George Inness.
