What is your position at the Brooks?
Fundraising Events Intern
What do you work on day to day and what does it entail?
I enter auction items into our database and store them backstage. I make sure that the different items are organized in a way that we can get them quickly when we need them. When I'm not doing this, I send out membership letters and thank you notes to our sponsors and distributors.
What is your favorite part of your internship at the museum?
My favorite part of my internship is seeing all the different items that come in to be auctioned off. I also enjoy seeing how much people are actually willing to bid on these items. But, the most exciting part so far was helping out at Brooks Uncorked.
How did you hear about this opportunity and what drew you to it?
I was looking for places in Memphis that would possibly have internships in event planning. I emailed the Brooks and Lindsey responded yes! and that is how I found this internship. Lindsey's enthusiasm is what made my decision to intern at the Brooks.
Where do you attend school and what is your major?
I attend LIM College in Manhattan and my major is Fashion Merchandising.

Has your internship influenced your future career choices?
It has made me more enthusiastic about event planning and has made me more sure that it is what I want to do.
What is your favorite piece of art and why?
The green artwork in the conference room that is up for auction in the Grand Auction!!
If you could travel cost free anywhere for one week, where would you go?
Australia

If you could meet any person, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
Diane von Furstenberg - because she has had such a huge impact on the fashion world and seems like such a fun lady.
If you could be good at any subject, what would it be and why?
Probably Physics - because I am pretty much clueless in this subject and love to know more about how the universe works.

If you could have a super power, what would it be and why?
I would want to be telepathic - to be able to hear people's thoughts and to be able to "mentally communicate with others." I would want this power because I always find myself wondering what people are thinking and would love to be able to communicate with someone without having to say anything.
