The Brooks Museum's Art Therapy Access Program is featured in the Association of Art Museum Directors’ (AAMD’s) latest publication in its Next Practices series: Next Practices in Partnerships. The resource is a compilation of 94 case studies from AAMD members detailing effective partnerships between art museums and community stakeholders that have enhanced museums’ service to the public.

First Tennessee loans Carroll Cloar painting to Brooks Museum

First Tennessee Bank has loaned the museum Carroll Cloar’s Historic Encounter Between E.H. Crump and W.C. Handy on Beale Street. The painting is now on view in the Carroll Cloar Gallery for the next six months.

Brooks Museum’s Pissarro painting spends time in Paris

It’s the first week of spring and one of our paintings featuring this season is spending time in Paris. Stanton Thomas, Curator of European and Decorative Art, accompanied Camille Pissarro’s Printemps à Éragny (Springtime in Éragny) to France earlier this month. This is Stanton in front of the Gare du Nord (Northern Train Station) during his time in Paris.

#BrooksMuseumBunnies - The Instagram Contest Winners

Intrude, one of the most highly acclaimed major public art installations in the world, came to the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art in January 2017. We held an Instagram contest to increase visitor interaction with the installation. The contest had 680 entries. Each winner was awarded a family membership to the Brooks.
